Marine

Owing to many of its properties, webbing lends itself well to a wide range of applications in the Marine industry. On the vast majority of sailing vessels and watersports equipment, there are many uses for webbing to help performance in essential tasks on-board and in safety on the water.

Features

The main useful features and advantages of webbing in the Marine environment are:

  • Excellent strength, i.e. high tenacity polyester
  • Polyester and Nylon are ideal for medium to high load applications
  • Polypropylene is light and has a low water absorption rate
  • Polyester will float in water and has low elongation
  • Polyester and Polypropylene have good abrasion resistance
  • Smooth, flat construction
  • Polyester and Dyneema have higher UV resistance
  • Dyneema does not absorb water, has excellent UV resistance and flex characteristics. It is very strong and has a low stretch profile
  • Mildew resistance
