Bowmer Bond’s Expertise in Webbing Assemblies

With a legacy dating back to 1795, Bowmer Bond has been a symbol of expertise and experience, delivering unrivalled webbing solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and customization.

Our webbing assemblies (sometimes known as Made-up Units), are manufactured by our highly skilled staff using our specialist industrial sewing machines to lockstitch, bartack or flag stitch to our customers’ specifications.

Webbing Assemblies Explained

Commonly used in the manufacturing of safety harnesses, cargo straps, military gear, backpacks and various other products that require strength, flexibility and durability, webbing assemblies are products made by weaving or sewing together strips of strong fabric, typically nylon or polyester.

At Bowmer Bond, our skilled experts can produce lockstitch, bartack or flag stitch products in a range of materials to suit our customers’ specifications.

This includes –

Nylon Webbing
Known for its high strength, flexibility and abrasion resistance, nylon webbing is widely used in a range of products such as, safety harnesses, military gear, pet products and outdoor equipment. We are also able to produce custom widths, thicknesses and additional features like reflective strips.

Polyester Webbing
Commonly used in cargo straps, tie-downs, and applications where exposure to the elements is a concern, polyester webbing is resistant to UV rays, chemicals and moisture and offers enhanced resistance to stretching.

Cotton Webbing
Cotton webbing is softer and more comfortable compared to synthetic materials but may have lower tensile strength. Used in applications where a softer feel is desired, such as bag straps, belts, and fashion accessories, cotton webbing offers extreme versatility due to its ‘simple to cut, sew and dye‘ nature.

Polypropylene Webbing
Polypropylene has low water absorption properties, making it suitable for applications where exposure to moisture is common. Available in flat woven forms, similar to nylon and polyester webbing, our polypropylene webbing offers a lightweight solution without compromising strength.

Advantages of Webbing Assemblies by Bowmer Bond

Webbing assemblies offer several advantages across various industries and applications due to their versatile nature and specific characteristics.

Strength and Durability
Webbing assemblies are designed to provide high tensile strength, making them suitable for applications where strength and durability are crucial, such as safety harnesses, load-bearing equipment and industrial strapping.

Lightweight
Compared to traditional materials, webbing assemblies are lightweight. This characteristic is beneficial in applications where minimising weight is important, such as in outdoor gear, backpacks and automotive components.

Flexibility
Webbing is inherently flexible, allowing it to conform to various shapes and contours. This flexibility makes it versatile for use in products like backpack straps, pet leashes and other applications where comfort and ease of movement are important.

Customisation
Webbing can be easily customised to meet specific requirements. It can be produced in different widths, colours, and patterns. Custom printing on webbing allows for branding and personalisation.

Quality in Every Thread

As well as our leading webbing assembly capabilities, we can develop bespoke products by utilising our comprehensive portfolio of additional processes.
Our extended service offerings include –

We also offer a range of customisation options including printing, dyeing and cutting.

These additional services provide a level of customisation and functionality to our webbing assemblies, allowing them to meet specific industry standards, regulations and unique requirements. Whether it’s for branding, improved durability or meeting specialised needs of critical industries, these services contribute to the versatility and adaptability of webbing assemblies.
