Last week the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and non-wovens, Techtextil, took place in Frankfurt, Germany for the first time since 2019.
This year, for the first time in almost ten years, Bowmer Bond Narrow Fabrics took the decision not to exhibit due to uncertainty around the visitor attendance in the post-pandemic climate. Instead, our Commercial Manager, Erica Cooper and our UK Northern Area Sales Manager, Mike Stewart visited the show over three days.
It was great for our colleagues to see the global textile business come together in Frankfurt once again. Techtextil shared its relaunch with two other events running concurrently on the Messe Frankfurt trade fair site – Texprocess and the one-time Heimtextil Summer Special. After all the travel restrictions of the past three years and therefore being unable, for the majority of that time, to meet face to face with customers, suppliers and industry associates, there was a noticeable positive energy and atmosphere at the exhibition due to the personal encounter aspect of the event.
Reports of 63,000 visitors and 2300 exhibitors across the three exhibitions represent a successful relaunch of these international textile fairs. This year’s event had a clear focus on recycling and sustainability with a wide range of products honing in on this factor as a USP. This enabled visitors to experience this trend in its entirety as well as providing an inspiring space for product development ideas and innovation in the context of sustainable alternatives and options for the future.
Our colleagues had a successful, insightful and informative visit to Techtextil & Texprocess. It was great to reconnect with the industry at a personal level on such a large scale again.
The next exhibition will be held in Frankfurt from April 23 to 26, 2024, Bowmer Bond Narrow Fabrics looks forward to seeing you there.
