We are pleased to announce that Bowmer Bond Narrow Fabrics has had solar panels installed at Hanging Bridge Mills. We hope you will agree that this is great news and a further step towards sustainable manufacturing for Bowmer Bond.
Solar energy enables us to self-generate at a fraction of the cost of grid-supplied electricity which means we have a more cost-efficient operation. This proportion of our supply can be reliable and predictable. Solar energy is a long-term investment supported by Government incentives.
One of the reference sites provided in the installer’s proposal generated 341,000 kWh in one year and saved 78.4 Tonnes of CO2 emissions (Ref: The British Library – CBRE).
This is in line with the key strategic priorities for Bowmer Bond as we seek to “Enhance focus on sustainable manufacturing and products” for the long-term.
